Bargain hunters can now snap up even more deals and discounts in time for Christmas as a budget store reopens its doors in at Hillstreet.
Bargain Buys is trading once again and the launch saw the discount chain offer £3,000 worth of giveaways and opportunities for shoppers to bag a range of cut-price deals.
The store has recruited 30 members of staff from the local area to become part of the Bargain Buys team; staff members are also being retained from the previous Poundworld stores.
Peter Drabble, centre manager at Hillstreet, said: “We are delighted that Bargain Buys is back trading at Hillstreet. It means the centre is now 96% let and having a key unit open again will benefit our other retailers in terms of increased footfall.
“The newly-designed store has been modelled to enhance the shopping experience for Hillstreet customers. It also makes it even easier to find all the bargains and savings the store offers every day on branded household and food products.
“With the likes of Primark, Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, Pandora and now Bargain Buys, Hillstreet has something for every budget this Christmas.”
The store was braced for queues ahead of its opening on December 1, as its top offers included a Hyundai black curved fireplace for £29.99 (RRP £229), a Hyundai steam mop for £14.99 (RRP £39.99), and a glass TV stand for only £9.99 (RRP £49.99).
Middlesbrough is the forty-second store the discount chain has opened since April (creating over 800 jobs), with more stores opening to trade in the next month, employing over 150 people mostly from the recently closed Poundworld stores.
Executive Chairman, Nadir Lalani, said: “We are pleased to be opening a brand-new store to the people of Middlesbrough with loads of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices, and look forward to opening another 50 stores over the coming months, creating over 750 jobs.
“The team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable shopping environment for all our new customers.”
